Neuer was absent from Munich’s team training on Thursday. Coach Vincent Kompany (38) explained the absence.
The coach at the matchday press conference on Friday: “That was more of a precautionary measure. Normally he should train today. We will discuss it together and decide on his participation after training.”

And he continued: “Of course we didn’t want to take any unnecessary risks. It looks good, but we won’t do anything crazy.”

Neuer was last absent due to injury in April, suffering from a torn muscle fiber. Back then, substitute Sven Ulreich played three games in Bayern’s goal.
