Bayern Munich attacker Harry Kane has revealed that he really likes the fan culture in German football. He noticed this when he made his debut in the Supercup against RB Leipzig in August.
“It felt wonderful when I made my debut,” said Kane, who came on as a substitute for Mathys Tel in the 64th minute FourFourTwo.
The atmosphere in the Allianz Arena was “something special” despite the 3-0 defeat against Leipzig, he said. “And I’ve since realized that it wasn’t just a flash in the pan. German football has some of the most passionate fans I’ve ever seen.”
Meanwhile, Kane explained that there was something magical about the moment he came on.
“I remember waiting to get into the game,” said the 30-year-old Englishman, who moved from Tottenham Hotspur to Munich in the summer. “I heard the drums, saw all the posters and flags. I had goosebumps. The fan culture in Germany blew me away from the start.”
Kane, who has signed a contract with Bayern until 2027, has had an outstanding start so far at his new club.
In a total of 16 competitive games for the German record champions, he scored 21 times. With 17 Bundesliga goals, he is chasing Robert Lewandowski’s season record (41 goals).
