FC Bayern recovers points at the top of the table from Berlin. In the maximum match against Freiburg it will be clearer than expected.
It was touted as a top game – it will eventually become clear: FC Bayern beat Freiburg table neighbors 5-0 at home in Munich. It becomes clear in the first half. First Serge Gnabry (13th), then Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting (33rd). In the second 45 minutes, Leroy Sané (53rd), Sadio Mané (55th) and Marcel Sabitzer (80th) followed suit.
In the standings, Bayern overtook Freiburg with the clear victory and narrowed the gap to leaders Union Berlin to four points (2-0 against BVB).
So the game went
The story of the game was provided by the noble reservist Choupo-Moting. Nagelsmann offered the 33-year-old veteran as a center forward because expected leader Müller had to pass due to muscle problems. So Bayern played with a classic nine again, and it was great.
At 1-0, Choupo-Moting started the move with a nice pass to Alphonso Davies, which Gnabry finished with a well-considered header. Choupo-Moting then scored his first Bundesliga goal since February on a pass from strong Sané in classic striker style. He moved opponent Philipp Lienhart and hit the far corner with a right-footed shot.
