Andreas Christensen, who arrived on a free transfer from Chelsea in 2022, is currently not in the official FC Barcelona squad after suffering an Achilles tendon injury that will keep him out of action for the first half of the season.
While he was out, Pau Cubarsi and Inigo Martinez have established themselves as a dominant duo in the center of defense under new coach Hansi Flick, while Ronald Araujo is also expected to play an important role following his return from injury.
According to information from Relief Christensen is now only a marginal figure in FC Barcelona’s plans. The club’s officials are now ready to consider offers for the Danish international – perhaps even as early as January if he recovers from his injury in time.
SPORT believes a summer departure from Barcelona is more likely, although a January exit is possible if the right offer comes in. Christensen’s contract expires in 2026 and he is no longer expected to be offered an extension, so Barcelona are keen to sell him before his value drops.
FC Barcelona are of the opinion that they already have enough alternatives in defense with Eric Garcia and Jules Kounde as well as 19-year-old Sergi Dominguez, but also want to snap up Jonathan Tah from Bayer Leverkusen when his contract expires in the summer.
How Sky Reportedly, FC Barcelona are one of the favorites to sign Tah, but they have competition from FC Bayern Munich, who continue to flirt with the German international.
