Augsburg (dpa / lby) – FC Augsburg opens the 31st matchday of the Bundesliga on Friday (8.30 p.m.) with a home game against 1. FC Cologne. Coach Heiko Herrlich wants to take “a big step” with his team against the table penultimate to stay in the German elite league. “We really want to win so that Cologne can no longer catch up with us,” said Herrlich. The FCA has four games before the end of the season, seven points ahead of Cologne. With their new coach Friedhelm Funkel they drew new hope in the relegation battle with a 2-1 win against RB Leipzig during the week.
