FC 25: EA SPORTS veralbert Cucurella in der Palmer-POTM-SBC

Cole Palmer is the Premier League Player of the Month for September and has received a POTM card for FC 25. The associated SBC promises a reward in FUT that seems strange at first.

A few months ago, the Spaniard Marc Cucurella caused some dissatisfaction – especially from fans of the German national team. His handball in the European Championship quarter-finals did not result in a penalty and the DFB team was subsequently eliminated. At the press conference after the final whistle, he couldn’t help but smile at referee Anthony Taylor’s controversial decision. Cucurella lost her good mood two weeks ago – in a completely different context.

The Chelsea FC TikTok account published a video around the release of EA SPORTS FC 25 in which Blues professionals react to their new ratings. Cucurella received an overall rating of 82, his gold card for FUT is “non-rare” – so not rare. Which led teammate Cole Palmer to tease him about it. “I’ve already sold you five times,” said the Englishman to Cucurella.

“Non-Rare” as an SBC subtask

Fast forward two weeks and EA SPORTS announced Palmer as the Premier League’s Player of the Month for September on Friday. The offensive man therefore received a POTM special card for FUT, which can be unlocked via the Squad Building Challenge (SBC). To do this, a total of three team building tasks must be completed. One of them is called “Non-Rare”. At first glance, the individual reward is even more unusual: a gold card from Cucurella, which EA SPORTS writes “non-rare”.

The developer is currently being praised on social media for this joke in reference to the Chelsea players’ rating reaction. After much of the community initially appeared confused, the clip made the rounds again. Most fans now think the in-game action is fun and creative. Feedback that very few people otherwise receive from EA SPORTS’ new FUT content.
