Utah man threatened to shoot Biden killed by FBI
WASHINGTON (Agence France-Presse) WASHINGTON (AFP) – A Utah man who threatened Joe Biden was shot and killed by FBI agents on Monday, hours before US President Joe Biden visited the western Utah state.
The FBI confirmed that operatives shot and killed a suspect during an arrest and search of a residence in Provo, Utah, a city south of Salt Lake City.
The FBI declined to identify the man, saying the investigation was ongoing, but federal prosecutors in Utah identified him as Craig Robertson in the complaint.
The complaint alleges that Robertson, in his early 70s, calling himself MAGA Trumper, repeatedly threatened Biden and others in social media posts.
“I hear Biden is coming to Utah,” Robertson said in a post this week. “Clean the dust off the M24 sniper rifle.”
In addition to Biden, Robertson made threats against Vice President Kamala Harris and U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland, the complaint said.
“Now is the perfect time for a Presidential Assassination or two, first Joe (Biden), then Harris!!!” one post said.
