FBI Offers $250,000 Reward for Capture of Infamous ‘One Coin’ Pyramid Scheme Creator

The FBI is now offering up to $250,000 for information leading to the arrest of the ten most wanted fugitives, the FBI announced. Among them, the only woman is the Bulgarian Ruzha Ignatova, creator of the “One Coin” pyramid, writes “24 Chasa”.

The crypto queen has been wanted since 2017 and was last seen boarding a plane from Bulgaria to Greece. Ignatova is wanted for criminal activity related to commercial fraud, progressive solicitation and money laundering through the creation and distribution of OneCoin virtual currency. The pyramid began to operate in 2014. In 3 years, about $ 4 billion entered Ignatova’s accounts.

The FBI found that OneCoin has virtually no value and was never protected by the blockchain technology used in cryptocurrencies. Throughout its more than 100-year history, the FBI has asked for the public’s help in locating wanted criminals—especially those on the Ten Most Wanted Fugitives list.

On May 25, 2023, the FBI announced that the reward for information leading directly to the arrest of ten most wanted fugitives was increased from up to $100,000 to up to $250,000. In some cases, the potential award amount may be higher.
