The American federal police are investigating a threat of shootings targeting schools in the United States, broadcast on the social network TikTok and whose virality has led many establishments to alert parents.
Different authorities have downplayed the credibility of this threat, released in the form of videos featuring a “school shootings competition“and that gun and bomb attacks were happening on Friday in schools across the United States.

The rumor emerged two weeks after a deadly shooting at a high school in Oxford, Michigan, where a 15-year-old teenager killed four students and injured several others with a semi-automatic pistol donated by his parents.
“Information is circulating that today is a day of attacks on schools“, warned in an e-mail the officials of a school in the capital Washington, adding that “the administration and the local police are aware and are following it closely“.

The school district of Pennsbury, Pa., Has told parents that there will be a reinforced police presence around its buildings, even if it “don’t think this threat is credible.“TikTok assured to conduct the investigation while seeming to distance itself from these videos appeared on its platform. For its part, the FBI said it took”all potential threats seriously“.
The organization Everytown For Gun Safety, which campaigns for better regulation of firearms, recorded at least 149 shootings in schools in 2021 in the United States, leaving a total of 32 dead and 94 injured.
