In 2007, J. Vernon’s Bon Iver debut album “For Emma, Forever Ago” became a real cornerstone of the indie genre, gaining widespread acclaim from world music critics and listeners. Legend has it that this album was made and it made J. Vernon as one of the most remarkable singers of his generation.
The prestigious British music portal “NME” has said about Bon Iver concerts that there are only a few artists who are able to evoke as many breathtaking emotions as Bon Iver in live performances. Over the years, music produced by J. Vernon, has changed from acoustic to electronic compositions, and the perfection of the live performance provided by Bon Iver has remained unchanged. One of the biggest musicians describes “Stereogum” Bon Iver concerts as a unique experience. J. Vernon has been able to prove that he is great no matter what he does. With stunning lighting, stage effects and group support, he creates an eclectic and unforgettable live performance.
In August 2019, Bon Iver released the long-awaited fourth studio album “i, i”. The songs on the album became widely available on global radio stations. “I, i” highlights J. Vernon’s creative mood, which the artist successfully turned into 13 albums of the album with the involvement of almost 50 musicians. “I, i” charmingly closes Bon Iver’s previous album cycle – from “For Emma, Forever Ago” created in winter, to the playful “Bon Iver” in spring and “22, A Million” raised in summer, Dž. Vernon’s latest recording is like a real autumn carrier of the northern hemisphere – the artist’s most comprehensive, joyful and generous album to date.
Tickets for the Bon Iver concert at Mežaparks Green Theater on August 18, 2021 are available at “Biļešu Serviss” box offices and www.bilesuserviss.lv.
