FBI agents were conducting a search in Provo in the state of Utah when the shooting took place, reports say Associated Press (AP).
The episode took place just hours before President Joe Biden was due to land in the state.
The man posted a message online Monday where he wrote that he heard Biden was coming to Utah and that he intended to find the camouflage suit and “wipe the dust off his m24 sniper rifle,” according to the AP.
In another post, the man is said to have referred to himself as a “MAGA Trumper”. MAGA is a reference to the Trump slogan Make America Great Again.
