It concerns herbs of the Verstegen brand that are sold at supermarket chains Jumbo and Albert Heijn. Smartmat is also recalling a meal box that is sold in supermarket chain Okay.

It concerns various spice mixes from Verstegen: ‘Ground lemongrass’, ‘Java blend for Nasi/Bami with ginger and lemongrass’, ‘Mix Saté’ and ‘Mix Nasi/Bami goreng’. The herbs were sold until April 7, 2022.
After the discovery, Albert Heijn is also recalling the AH gourmet dish, which contains Verstegen lemongrass. Until today/April 8, the gourmet dish of 550 grams was sold in a dish with plastic foil. These are products with an expiry date (TGT) 07/04/2022, 09/04/2022, 11/04/2022, 14/04/2022 and 16/04/2022.
The products can potentially cause food infections and pose a health hazard, especially in young children, the elderly, people with weakened immune systems and pregnant women.
The FASFC and the retail chains therefore call on not to consume the products and to return them to the point of sale, where they will be replaced or refunded. Anyone with health problems is asked to contact a doctor.

Smartmat ‘One Meal Box’
Smartmat is taking the Foodbag One Meal Box with meat, Thai marinated beef strips seasoned with lemongrass, off the market. Traces of salmonella were found on the beef strips. Smartmat reports that. Customers are asked not to consume the product and to return it to the point of sale, where it will be refunded.
In concrete terms, this concerns the meal boxes with expiry dates 10 and 11 April 2022. These boxes contain a package of Thai marinated beef strips, with expiry dates 11 and 12 April and lot numbers 220404 and 220405.
The meal boxes were distributed in various Okay stores.
