Two children, a boy and a 12-year-old girl, were found dead in Margno, in the Lecco area. According to the first information, they were strangled by his father, who committed suicide. The double murder took place in an apartment building near the local mountain cable car.
The father would have killed the two boys in their sleep, and then sent a text message to his wife – who was in the house of Gorgonzola, in the Milanese area, where the family usually resides – to inform her that she would never see her children again. The woman warned the police and rushed to the scene, but there was nothing more for the kids to do.
In the meantime, the man had fled and was found dead nearby, after having thrown himself from a bridge. At the basis of the gesture would be the difficult ongoing separation between the spouses.
