Father Sentenced for Brutal Violence Against His Children in Terville Trial

For the public prosecutor, the word of the children takes precedence over that of the respondent. “You have raised and not educated your children by punishment, suffering, negative example. A sentiment shared by the judge and his assessors who sentenced him to 18 months’ imprisonment with 6 months probationary suspension for 2 years.

The Moselle will have to treat himself for his “impulsivity”, no longer come into contact with the siblings subject to the decision of the family affairs judge, follow a parental responsibility course, and no longer appear at the family home. The firm part of the sentence may be converted into house arrest under electronic surveillance. He escapes the withdrawal of parental authority but will have to compensate his children up to 800 € each and a symbolic euro for the mother.
