— Yesterday, the Court of Appeal in Warsaw, examining the complaint of the defense lawyers of three suspects in the Justice Fund case who were temporarily arrested in these proceedings, decided on the so-called conditional arrest and imposed preventive liberty measures against these persons in the form of: property guarantee in the amount of PLN 350,000. PLN, as well as police supervision and a ban on leaving the country – said Anna Adamiak.

Three payments made by natural persons were transferred to the account of the Prosecutor’s Office. The prosecutor contacted these people. When it comes to Michał O. [Olszewskiego — red.] procedural activities related to the payment of the deposit have been carried out — with the participation of a defense attorney and the person who provided the surety, she said.

A dismissal order for Michał O is currently being prepared. [Olszewskiego — red.] – Anna Adamiak pointed out.

— The court’s decision absolutely does not mean that Mr. Michał’s status in the proceedings changes. This court decision even confirms that the collected evidence creates a high probability of committing the alleged acts, she added.

On Thursday, the Court of Appeal in Warsaw decided to conditionally revoke the arrest of Fr. Olszewski and two officials of the Ministry of Justice suspected in the investigation regarding the Justice Fund on the condition of paying PLN 350,000 by November 15. PLN surety.

According to one of the clergy’s defenders, Krzysztof Wąsowski, the court informed that the change of the preventive measure would result in a ban on all three of them leaving the country, along with the confiscation of their passports, as well as the obligation to report to the police twice a week. In addition, they will be prohibited from contact with each other and with witnesses.

Fr. Michał Olszewski, president of the Profeto foundation, which received several dozen million zlotys from the Justice Fund, was detained by the Internal Security Agency at the end of March. In addition to him, the officers also detained two officials of the Ministry of Justice. Since then, all three have been in custody.
