It is October 19th of this year that completely changes the life of a family from Henstedt-Ulzburg: The father of six, Thiemo Ramm, loses control of his VW Golf and collides with a truck. The 34-year-old dies, his 11-year-old stepson survives the accident, seriously injured. Now the family urgently needs donations.
According to the police’s findings, Thiemo Ramm was traveling on Highway 226 from Bad Oldesloe towards Grabau on the morning of the day of the accident. Shortly before the town entrance to Grabau, he crossed into the opposite lane for an unknown reason and collided with an oncoming truck. The 34-year-old died at the scene of the accident, and his 11-year-old stepson was seriously injured and taken to a clinic by helicopter. The 33-year-old driver of the truck was taken to hospital with minor injuries.
Father of the family dies shortly before the wedding
Five days after the accident, Thiemo Ramm and his partner Adriane Wessel wanted to get married, reports the “Abendblatt”. Now the mother is alone with her six children and her father-in-law, who suffers from dementia. It wasn’t until the summer of 2023 that Ramm and Wessel gave up their dream of living in neighboring Denmark to care for their sick father-in-law.

A family friend is now starting a fundraising campaign GoFundMe started. “The funeral has to be paid for, as well as day care for her father. The house they moved into is also in need of renovation; they wanted to start with a new kitchen. Now she doesn’t know where her head is,” she writes on the platform. More than 14,000 euros have been raised to support the family so far. (mp)
