Father of Domestic Violence Victim Speaks Out After Daughter Is Named Suspect and Detained

NS, PB’s father, opened his voice regarding the case domestic violence in Depok that happened to her daughter. NS was disappointed because her daughter, who was a victim of domestic violence, was instead named a suspect and detained.

NS explained that the case of domestic violence that befell her daughter occurred on February 26, 2023 in Cinere, Depok City. PB and her husband were involved in a disagreement.

“At first, from the husband there was a difference in understanding, then he told the incident to his wife, my daughter, who is (the initials) PB. Then I didn’t know Howinfluenced by emotions, maybe under the influence of drugs, yes, because of the user, he was emotional and immediately took a beating, there was a photo of it in the media that was circulating,” explained NS to journalists in Depok, Wednesday (24/5/2023).

A few days later, PB told the incident to his mother or NS’ wife. PB revealed that he was sprinkled with chili powder.

“Then a few days later his son told my wife again. My wife told me that during the beating my child’s eyes were sprinkled with chili powder,” he said.

Long story short, PB and her husband’s fight continued. The commotion continued until finally PB ran away escape to the in-laws’ house which is next to his house.

“He ran to the next house, to his in-laws’ house, his parents B and was saved by his sister-in-law locked in a room, chased. Banged on the door until his sister-in-law was also a target. nih,” he said.

According to NS, PB’s sister-in-law contacted the NGO and asked for help. In the end PB, accompanied by NGOs, was taken to the Depok Metro Police and made a report.

“After the post mortem, the NGO took it to my sister’s house in Bekasi. I don’t know yet, I only found out the next day because it was rather difficult for my second child to convey what happened to me because it was quite severe,” he said.

After that, PB’s father met him in Bekasi. NS admitted that he was shocked by the domestic violence experienced by PB.

“Frankly I was shocked to see it,” he added.
