Father names daughter after Vasco without mother’s permission: Brazilian football story

Kely Roberta was taken by surprise last Thursday when she received a message from her daughter’s father with a photo of the girl’s birth certificate. Jonathan was entrusted with the task of registering the newborn and he could not resist the temptation to pay homage to the Vascoyour favorite club.

Pérola Vasco Ferreira Silva was the name chosen by her father against Kely’s wishes, who supports Botafogo. Her mother was reluctant, but accepted and even dressed the girl in Jonathan’s team clothes.

Upon receiving the image on her cell phone, Kely decided to vent on social media, but she didn’t imagine the matter would take on such proportions. The post already has almost 30 thousand likes and more than 10 thousand shares. In the comments, there are those who agree and those who disagree with the father’s attitude.

– I regret posting it, because there are so many messages, even evil ones – Kely said.

Some internet users advised the mother to request a name change at the registry office, while others, who share the feeling of love for Vasco, liked the idea.
