Father Khen Boarat Welcomed as New Priest at Sacré-Cœur Church in Auteuil, Embodying Renewal and Community Outreach

Built by the Wallisian and Futunian community, the Sacré-Cœur church in Auteuil has a new priest: Father Khen Boarat. The faithful officially welcomed him this Sunday. They see in it the symbol of a hand extended towards other communities.

When we say that the Auteuil church was built by our old people, it’s true. But it’s not a community church”, says Anamalia Mauga-Pognon, head of the liturgical commission of the parish of Sacré-Coeur d’Auteuil. This Sunday, the faithful officially welcomed their new priest: Father Khen Boarat. More than two years after the disappearance of Father Colomban, they see in him a symbol of continuity, but also of renewal and openness to other communities.

In all the churches, the Wallisian community is involved, it is still there, but I think we need it to bring everyone back“, continues Anamalia Mauga-Pognon. Ordained three months ago, Father Khen Boarat grew up in Tindu, “with this Wallisian and Futunian community. I was able to learn to know her, to appreciate her riches”, he says, agreeing to embody an outstretched hand beyond the communities.
