Father Eurico da Silva Pinto, born in Ponte de Lima and parish priest of Paredes de Coura and Resende, died today.
The sad announcement was made in the early afternoon of this Sunday by the Diocese of Viana do Castelo, not indicating the reasons for the death of the 68-year-old parish priest.
According to the Catholic yearbook of that diocese, Father Eurico was born on December 30, 1951 and was ordained a priest 36 years ago, on September 2, 1984.
He served as a priest in the parishes of the village of Paredes de Coura and in the parish of Resende.
He was also chaplain to the Paredes de Coura Firefighters.
He came to belong to the commission that organizes the New Fairs in Ponte de Lima.
He studied at the seminars in Braga and held the ‘new mass’ at the parish church of the municipality that saw him born.
The body will be veiled from 10:00 am on Monday, during a Eucharist celebrated at the Paredes de Coura Mother Church. You will then go to the Igreja de Misericórdia in Ponte de Lima, where you will arrive at 12:30.
At 3:30 pm, funeral funerals are celebrated at the Mother Church of Ponte de Lima (Santa Maria dos Anjos), chaired by Monsignor Sebastião Ferreira, diocesan administrator of Viana do Castelo.
He will be buried in the municipal cemetery of Ponte de Lima.
