The brand new mom has never made a secret of the fact that her ex plays no role in the life of daughter Claire. At the time, he did not want the then 21-year-old Maxime to keep the child. According to Maxime, it started when Leroy came into the picture and it has everything to do with jealousy. She says: “I feel so sorry for Leroy, because every time Jaap texts, it brings tears to Leroy’s eyes. He is afraid that once Jaap comes back into the picture, Claire will be taken away from us.”
Yet Maxime finds it a difficult situation, because she does not want to take Claire from her father either. “Claire is still so small, if she also gets that whole other family…”, sister Montana adds. “Much too complicated for that girl,” said Martien.

Maxime and Leroy have been together for over a year now. The two got to know each other while filming Chateau Meiland, where Leroy worked as a cameraman. In the new season of the SBS6 reality series, Leroy also makes his appearance in front of the camera.
