A 3-month-old baby girl died Monday from head trauma allegedly caused by her father inside a NYCHA apartment in Manhattan, New York City Police announced.
Ceferino Sánchez, 34, was arrested and charged with murder, manslaughter and assault in connection to the death of his daughter.
According to authorities, little El Cairo Sánchez-Dixon, 3 months old, was transported by members of her family to the NYU hospital on Monday, around 10:00 am, unconscious and with head trauma. The baby was pronounced dead at the hospital.
After an investigation, the uniformed officer found that the girl suffered the injuries inside her apartment located in 376 Madison Street (Vladeck Houses) of NYCHA apparently in the hands of his father who was later arrested and charged.
Details of what the attack would have been like, motives and who would have taken the minor to the hospital were not disclosed.
This is a case under investigation.
