On January 13, a complaint was received at the Solapur police station that a child was missing. The police informed the complainants that the body of a child was found during the subsequent search. The family identified the body as that of their missing son Vishal and sent the body for post-mortem. The postmortem report said that the child died of poison. Then the police registered the case and interrogated Vishal’s family members. During interrogation, the child’s father, Vijay, burst into tears and confessed to the crime.

Police informed that Vijay said that Vishal was very backward in his studies. Moreover, he used to watch obscene videos on his phone and used to harass girls at school. Vishal was constantly asked by his parents to correct his mistakes and move on, but he did not listen to them. Later, the number of complaints from the school started increasing. Vijay, who could not tolerate his son’s behavior and actions, took his son on his two-wheeler to Tuljapur Road on January 13.

The police said that poison was mixed with cold drink from a shop there. As soon as the poison enters, Vishal collapses and Vijay goes back home. Later that evening, Vijay and his wife came to the police station and lodged a complaint.
