A traffic accident between a car and two motorcycles occurred in Wanze early Sunday evening, said firefighters from the Hemeco rescue zone.
Around 6:40 p.m., a car and two Can-Am motorcycles collided on the Tienen road. According to initial reports, the car was going down the road and struck the other two vehicles from the front.
A father and son were injured in the collision. The father has suffered several traumas while his son is seriously affected and has lost a leg, the emergency services say. The mother, present on one of the motorcycles, is in shock. The people were taken to the hospital. The firefighters from the Nage (Namur-Gembloux) rescue zone, the Red Cross and Amay came as reinforcements.
The Meuse-Hesbaye police zone also went to the scene of the accident to set up a diversion and allow the emergency services to act. At 8:40 p.m., the roadway was still closed to traffic. The Liège prosecutor’s office was informed of the facts.
