Father and his 7-year-old daughter were found dead hanging from a tree in separate districts

The incident occurred in Iskenderun and Arsuz districts. According to the allegation, Cengiz Karataş, who was released from prison a while ago, wanted to see his daughter Dilan Karataş, who is from his Syrian wife Svazen ​​Zade, with whom he lived apart yesterday. Karataş, who went to the house of his estranged wife, said that he would take his daughter with him and bring him back at 16:00. After Karataş did not bring her daughter back at the promised time, the Syrian mother reported the situation to the police. The police, who started a search to find Cengiz Karataş and his daughter, continued their search throughout the night, but could not get any results.

The people around who saw a corpse hanging from a tree in the forest area in the district’s Şekere District today, at noon, reported the situation to the police. Upon the notice, the teams who came to the region determined that the person hanging from the tree was Cengiz Karataş. A few hours later, the police were informed that the body of a girl was found hanging by a rope in the Karaağaç Asri Cemetery in the district of Arsuz. As a result of the work of the police teams who went to the scene, it was determined that the body belonged to Dilan Karataş, the daughter of Cengiz Karataş. The lifeless body of the father and daughter was taken to the Adana Forensic Medicine Institute for autopsy after the investigations at the scene.

While the police initiate a large-scale investigation into the incident, the possibility that Cengiz Karataş first killed his daughter by hanging, then put an end to his own life.
