Fathallah: Fathi did not inform us of his desire to end his career with Al-Ahly

Mahmoud Fathallah, the Pyramids general manager, confirmed that Ahmed Fathi, the team player, did not inform the club of his willingness to move to Al-Ahly to end his career with the red jersey, explaining the fact that the club agreed to sell Ibrahim Adel during the winter transfer window next January.

And press reports have stated that Ahmed Fathi wants to return to Al-Ahly in the new season before retiring.

Fathi, 38, moved from Al-Ahly to Pyramids in 2020.

Fathallah said, in statements to the “etc” channel, in the early hours of Thursday morning, “Everything rumored about Ahmed Fathi’s departure at the end of the current season is not true. The player’s contract expires at the end of the season. but this does not mean that he will leave and the club chooses the right moment to open a negotiation with any player to renew the contract “.

And the general coach of the Pyramids added: “Ahmed Fathi has never told us about his desire to end his career with Al-Ahly”.

On the possibility of Ibrahim Adel’s departure, Fathallah replied: “We didn’t open the door to sell Ibrahim Adel in January. All that concerns the player now is to come back from injury in the next few days, and he is an important player for us.”

Ibrahim Adel has been close to leaving Pyramids more than once in the recent period, but the club has stuck to the young player’s services.

At the news of the sale of the Pyramids in the next period, he explained: “I have not heard of the possibility of selling the club, the team is doing well and we have ambitions and goals.”
