A man may have died following a work accident at Montreal-Trudeau airport. An investigation is underway on the side of the airport. The CNESST has not confirmed anything for the moment.
Aéroports de Montréal (ADM) spokeswoman Anne Marcotte confirmed to TVA Nouvelles that there was indeed an accident and that an investigation is underway.
According to our sources, a man in his fifties died in a work accident. His death was pronounced on the spot. The nature and exact place of his death remain unknown.
Urgences-Santé, however, confirmed having received a call around 1:15 p.m., following which paramedics were deployed.
The man worked in luggage transport, CNESST spokesperson Antoine Leclerc-Loiselle confirmed to TVA Nouvelles.
Two CNESST inspectors arrived on the scene at the start of the evening to collect testimony and determine the circumstances of the accident.
It is not yet clear whether the victim worked for a company under federal or provincial jurisdiction; it is therefore possible that the investigation will not be completed by the CNESST.
The accident had no operational impact on the airport, assures ADM spokesperson Anne Marcotte.
