Fatal Traffic Accident in Schluechtern: Two Killed and Four Injured in Head-On Collision on Country Road

Fatal traffic accident – Schluechtern

A serious traffic accident in which two people were killed and four others seriously injured occurred on Wednesday around 4:10 p.m. on a country road in the Schlüchtern district. A car Seat, occupied by two men (58 and 36 years old) drove on the L 3180 coming from Herolz in the direction of Sannerz. About halfway between the districts, the driver of the SEAT wanted to overtake a truck and, when swerving, overlooked an oncoming VW car, which was occupied by a 46 and 44-year-old man. After the head-on collision with the VW, the Seat was thrown into a BMW occupied by a 32-year-old driver and a 38-year-old passenger. Another BMW station wagon was damaged by flying debris. A motorcyclist was able to avoid entering the scene of the accident by emergency braking and fell. The two occupants of the Seat died at the scene of the accident. The users of the VW and the BMW were seriously injured and taken to the surrounding clinics with a rescue helicopter, among other things. The occupants of the BMW station wagon and the motorcyclist were unharmed. The truck driver, who probably didn’t notice the accident, continues his journey. The country road was completely closed for about 5 hours while the accident was being recorded. The public prosecutor called in an expert to clarify the cause of the accident.
