The emergency services responded to a traffic accident in Nore and Uvdal in Viken on Tuesday afternoon.
– Appears very serious, the police in the South-East wrote on X/Twitter around 2.45pm.
In an update just before 8.30pm on Tuesday evening, the police write that a man in his 60s has been confirmed dead after the accident.
The next of kin have been notified.
The man was alone in the car, which ended up approximately 50 meters off the road.
– The accident analysis group of the National Road Administration has been on the scene together with the police. Unknown reason for the descent. The case is being investigated further, writes Sør-East police district.
All emergency services, as well as the air ambulance, were sent to the scene.
Operations manager Trond Egil Groth told NTB that it was a passerby who contacted the police about the accident.
