Fatal Stabbing in Bronx Park: Police Seek Information

NEW YORKNew York City Police on Tuesday shared details of a fatal stabbing of a man in a Bronx park that took place last Friday.

The incident took place at approximately 5:25 pm at Bronx Park, also known as French Charley’s Park, in the Norwood section of the county.

The victim was identified as Carlos Borbón, a 21-year-old Hispanic man from the Bronx.

Borbon was inside the park when he became involved in a verbal dispute with an unknown individual, police said. The dispute escalated and led to the unknown individual brandishing a knife and stabbing the victim an estimated 11 times.

After the sudden stabbing, the unknown person fled on foot to parts unknown.

Emergency medical services arrived at the scene and transported the 21-year-old victim to Saint Barnabas Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
