Fatal Shooting in Longwood, The Bronx: Raymond García Executed in Drug Deal Gone Bad

Raymond García was executed after being shot 38 times in 30 seconds inside the lobby of an apartment building in The Bronx (NYC).

The violent crime occurred on the night of December 10 at 1096 West Farms Road in Longwood and no arrests have yet been made. In an update on the case, NYPD believes the homicide may have been related to a drug deal gone badpolice sources said.

“We have 38 exit and entry wounds with 19 .40 caliber casings… It was almost like a machine gun,” said Chief of Detectives Joseph Kenny, quoted by Bronx Times.

According to the police, García I was 46 years old and had recently moved to New York from Puerto Rico and had allegedly been linked to illicit drug activities. During a search of his apartment, NYPD discovered packaging and manufacturing equipment related to ketamine and fentanylleading investigators to believe it was part of an illegal pill factory.

“We believe our victim was involved in fake prescription pills. “We discovered label makers and things of that nature in her apartment,” Kenny noted. “I had a pay stub from working at the Bronx Terminal Market, which said I (earned) $568 a week, but He had more than $70,000 in his bank account. On the night of the fatal shooting, Garcia apparently met with the gunman. Seconds later, the attacker could be seen running away and speeding away.

“This entire encounter lasts approximately 30 seconds,” Kenny noted. Police are still working to locate the gunman. No arrests have been made or suspects identified.
