A suspect has been arrested in Germany for the fatal shooting on Sunday evening in a coffee shop on Kloveniersburgwal in Amsterdam. The arrest was made in collaboration with the German police just across the border.
The shooting took place at 10:25 p.m. near the Nieuwmarkt in the center of Amsterdam. The victim was taken to hospital and resuscitated, but assistance was of no avail. The identity of the victim has not yet been released, except that it is a man.
The identity of the suspect arrested in Germany has also not been released.
The police previously reported that two suspects fled in a car in the direction of Damstraat after the shooting.
