SYDNEY, KOMPAS.TV – A laboratory in Australia made the mistake of giving a negative result for Covid-19, which turned out to be positive.
The incident occurred on Saturday (12/25/2021), on Christmas Day.
The laboratory in charge is at St. Hospital. Vincent at Sydney.
They sent the wrong message on Christmas Eve, telling the people they didn’t have the coronavirus.

As quoted from Sky News, the results were finally corrected the morning of the next day, where the lab revealed it was due to human error.
The Laboratory’s Medical Director said an emergency response team had been formed to investigate the cause of the error.
This is believed to be partly due to increased pressure while processing high test volumes.
The mistake came as coronavirus cases hit record levels in Australia.
Nearly 10,000 cases of Covid-19 were recorded across the country on Christmas Day, most of them in New South Wales, where the laboratory in St. Vincent.
