Fatal Head-on Collision on Valsøyfjord Bridge in Trøndelag – Three People Involved, One Unconscious

LATEST: At 11.30 p.m., the police in Trøndelag report that three people were involved, one of whom is unconscious. The accident is described as serious.

The police in Trøndelag reported just after 10pm on Friday evening that there had been a traffic accident on the bridge over to Valsøya in Halsa. According to the police report on X (formerly Twitter), two cars were involved.

Shortly after the first report of the accident was published, Tidens Krav was informed by a witness that there had been a heavy collision, but that it was not on the bridge but 300-400 meters on the Rodal side of the bridge.

– There is extensive damage to the cars, one is completely crushed. This looks really scary, the witness said, adding that the place is very slippery.

He is on his way to Kristiansund, and arrived at the scene of the accident not long after the collision.

Witnesses said that two ambulances had then driven away from the scene.

– Just now the ambulance helicopter landed, he said at 22.55.

Violent

A little before 11 p.m., Tidens Krav’s journalist Marius Staveli also arrived at the scene of the accident.

– This is obviously a very serious accident. The cars have collided head-on, Staveli said just after 11 p.m.

A little later, he was able to say that two ambulance helicopters had arrived.

– There are lots of blue lights, several ambulances and many firefighters on the scene. Police have also arrived from both the Møre side and the Trøndelag side, said Staveli.

– The damage to the cars, which have collided in the gentle bend down towards the bridge, is very extensive, he said.

Tidens Krav has so far not made contact with the police.

The case will be updated.
