Fatal Fury gets sequel 23 years after last game, plus more…

The fighting game tournament EVO had its annual run this weekend, and alongside tons of exciting duels, we were also served the usual amount of news from old and upcoming fighting games.

First up is SNK, who after the King of Fighters XV tournament could reveal that a brand new Fatal Fury/Garou game is under development. It’s been 23 years since the last game in the series, Garou: Mark of the Wolves. Little was shown, other than a still of Rock Howard and a couple of cryptic slogans – no date or platforms are known.

Speaking of King of Fighters XV: The game is getting a second season of DLC in 2023, including more characters from Samurai Shodown.

Street Fighter 6 also showcased new characters. The returning Juri and newcomer Kimberly were both featured in a “flashy” new trailerwhich only solidifies the raw visual style the upcoming fighting game has chosen.

Guilty Gear -Strive-, for its part, enters its second DLC season with the well-known and beloved yoyo master Bridget as the first new character. The game will also get crossplay in the near future, with a beta planned for September. Arc System Works also stated that they are working hard to combat both loading times and the time-consuming server connection that occurs every time you start the game.

In addition to this, it was confirmed that both Dragon Ball FighterZ, Samurai Shodown and Persona 4 Arena Ultimax will get the highly sought-after multiplayer solution “rollback netcode”.

Finally, it is worth mentioning that new characters are also on the way Skullgirls 2nd Encore and Melty Blood: Type Lumina.
