A man and a woman died after the floods in Tsarevo, the city’s mayor, Georgi Lapchev, told BNT. Two more people are being sought, he added. The identity of the dead is not yet clear.
Earlier, a search was launched for three people swept away by tidal waves. It became clear that two of the missing were a woman and her child, who were swept away with their car on a collapsed bridge.

A little later, a man came to the bridge, who was also swept away by a tidal wave. He initially held on to a car, but did not last until help arrived, witnesses said.
Many roads remain closed, the main ones being Sozopol – Primorsko and Primorsko – Tsarevo.

Ahtopol, Varvara, Sinemorets and Rezovo are completely cut off. 20 children from Plovdiv who were in a tent camp were stranded in Rezovo. They are fine. A bus has been organized for their evacuation, but it cannot get there yet. Actions have been taken to drain the Hadji Yane dam, and the Poturnashki dam is being monitored. There is no danger of an accident or breaking of dikes.
Tsarevo municipality also started a campaign to recruit volunteers for the reconstruction after the flood.
