NEW JERSEY – In the midst of the winter mix that has begun to impact on our area on Thursday afternoon A fatal accident was reported on the highway on Friday morning New Jersey Turnpike to the north at the city of Elizabeth.
According to the New Jersey State Police, the crash was reported around 2:20 a.m. and involved an overturned truck and a Hyundai car. The driver of the truck sustained fatal injuries and the driver of the truck was transported to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The lanes were closed for investigations.
No details have been released about the cause of the crash.
