A car accident on the N269 near Hilvarenbeek left one person dead and another seriously injured last night. No other vehicles were involved in the accident, police said.
For unknown reasons, the car left the road at a roundabout and overturned. The vehicle ended up upside down on an embankment. Emergency services responded with several vehicles. The occupants had to be rescued from the wreckage by the fire brigade, but help came too late for one of them. The police have not released details about the occupants.
The road was strewn with debris after the accident. The police are investigating on the spot. It will also be examined whether slippery conditions played a role.
