Police revealed that the bus had an accident at Cipali Toll Road, precisely on the interchange road, kilometer 72, Purwakarta, West Java, carrying 21 people. A total of 12 people were reported to have died as a result of the incident.
“Twelve people died, two were seriously injured and seven were slightly injured,” said Purwakarta Police Chief AKBP Edwar Zulkarnain via short message as reported by detikJabarFriday (15/12/2023).
Edwar then detailed the 21 passengers. They included 18 passengers, 2 drivers and 1 maid.
“To be clearer, officers are still investigating,” he stressed.
Currently, the dead and injured victims were taken to two hospitals in Purwakarta, namely Siloam Hospital and Abdul Radjak Hospital, Purwakarta.
Head of the Gakkum Sub-Directorate for West Java Regional Police, AKBP Lalu Wira Sutriana, said the fatal accident occurred on Friday (15/12) at 17.00 WIB. They were bus passengers passing at KM 73 Cipali Toll Road.
