At least 17 people were killed and 35 injured after a passenger bus driver lost control of the vehicle and fell into a lake in southern Bangladesh, the Dhaka Tribune reported.
The incident took place in Jhalokati area around 09:55 local time.
The bus was traveling on the Bandaria-Jalokati route. According to preliminary information, in Chatrakanda village area, the bus driver lost control of the vehicle after his tire burst. As a result, the bus overturned and flew into a water body located on the side of the road.
Thirteen passengers died on the spot, four more died after hospitalization. Among the dead are seven minors and five women.
