The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Jigawa Command, on Wednesday said two people lost their lives in an accident on the Birnin Kudu/Kano highway.
The command’s spokesperson, Yahaya Ibrahim, confirmed this to journalists in Dutse.
Ibrahim said the accident occurred at around 14.50 due to excessive speed and a burst tire.
He explained that the accident involved a Volkswagen Golf with registration number TDU 520A A carrying 11 passengers, two of whom died and nine others suffered injuries of varying degrees.
According to him, FRSC personnel who responded to the accident seven minutes after receiving information had taken the victim to the Federal Medical Center (FMC) Birnin Kudu.
