In December 2020, a truck and a car went up in flames on the A3 near Waldbrunn (district of Würzburg). A 53-year-old woman was killed and three other people were injured. The sequence of the fire brigade alerts was met with incomprehension among fire fighters in the Würzburg district in the days after the accident. Above all, she was astonished that the locally responsible fire brigade in Waldbrunn was not alerted immediately. A mistake in the deployment plans became apparent. It is not far from the fire station in Waldbrunn to the motorway.
