Fatal Accident in Malang: Two Motorcyclists Killed in Collision with Minibus

Jakarta

A fatal accident involving 1 car and 2 motorcycles occurred in Pakis, District Malang, East Java. Two motorcyclists died after being hit by a minibus.

Reported detikJatim, the accident occurred on Jalan Raya Pakiskembar, Pakis District, Malang Regency, at around 14.40 WIB. The accident started when the minibus driven by Tommu Hermawan (30), a resident of Tumpang, Malang Regency, was traveling from west (Malang) to east (Tumpang). Arriving at the crime scene, the car allegedly went out of control and drove in the opposite direction.

Simultaneously from the opposite direction drove a motorbike with number N 3685 EBZ driven by Anisa Fitriani (19), who was riding with Suciani (39), and Desy Ayu Novitasari (7). Meanwhile, another motorbike rider with number ZN 3830 ECL named Asnawi (36) was riding with Ayra Sabiya Noviasari (5).

The car then collided with two motorbikes coming from the opposite direction. As a result, Anisa, a motorbike rider, and Deay Ayu, who was riding a pillion, suffered head injuries and died at the scene.

“The accident was suspected because the driver of the car was sleepy and the vehicle was traveling in the opposite direction. Together, two motorbike riders passed together, causing a collision,” said Head of Malang Police Traffic Unit AKP Agnis Juwita Manurung to detikJatim, Thursday (29/6/2023).

“Two victims died, and three others were injured and have received treatment,” Agnis added.
