“FAT Takes Action Against U-22 Indonesian National Team Personnel After 2023 SEA Games Final Brawl”

The 2023 SEA Games final between the U-22 Indonesian and U-22 Thai national teams last May 16, in Cambodia, was won by the U-22 Indonesian national team, 5-2.

However, in the match which was completed in the extra round, a fight broke out that caught the attention of Indonesian U-22 and Thailand U-22 personnel.

The incident caught the world’s attention, even going viral. FAT as the Thai football federation was also embarrassed and finally imposed a penalty on their members.

Thailand U-22 is indeed considered to be the trigger for the fight, with their officials making a controversial action to the bench from Indonesia U-22 first.

The FAT finally imposed a penalty on Teeapak Prueangna and Soponwit Rakyart as U-22 players. Both were banned from activities at the level of the Thai national team for six months.

Then there’s Prasadchok Chokmoh, Mayed Madada, Patrawut Wongsripuek who are the U-22 Thai coaching staff. They were punished for one year, not allowed to participate in Thai football at all.
