Rider Pramac Johann Zarco emerged as the fastest in the second free practice French MotoGP. He surpassed the Yamaha duo, Fabio Quartararo and Maverick Vinales.
The second free practice session of the French MotoGP, Friday (14/5/2021) evening WIB, took place under the cloud that was hanging on the Le Mans circuit. Alex Rins immediately set the benchmark as the fastest racer at the start of the session.
He was then shifted Fabio Quartararo only a few minutes later. Valentino Rossi had occupied the third position. But he slowly fell until it was scattered to position 12.
Takaaki Nakagami performed well to sprint to second place, displacing Rins to third. There are 20 minutes remaining when Fabio Quartararo crashes while trying to sharpen his time in pole position.
Entering the last 15 minutes, Rossi managed to climb from position 15 to position 10, then sharpened the time record for eighth. Marc Marquez is in 10th place at this point.
Maverick Vinales then managed to stick to his teammate, Quartararo, and took second place. But Pol Espargaro overtook Vinales in the last five minutes, followed by Franco Morbidelli who nudged up to third.
Marc Marquez improved from 12 to 6. Zarco took the top spot at the last minute from Quartararo and secured it.
Quartararo had to settle for second place, followed by Vinales. Pol Espargaro, Franco Morbidelli and Miguel Oliveira in 4-6. Jack Miller occupies seventh position, followed by Marc Marquez.
Valentino Rossi managed to secure a place in the top 10 through his last-minute efforts. He was ahead of Nakagami who completed the top 10.
