FASTEST STAR! Hubble Space Telescope viewed the star 28 billion light-years away

Its star, 28 billion light-years away, was imaged

In the article published in the journal Nature, it was shared that the star that Hubble has managed to image at a distance of 28 billion light years, which has been used in space research since 1990, is the “most distant star discovered” to date.

The authors of the paper predicted that the momentarily visible star could be “50 to 500 times larger and millions of times brighter” than the sun.

Astronomers stated that it takes about 13 billion years for the image of the star, which they call “Earendel” to mean “morning star” or “rising light”, to reach the world, and that this discovery can help them investigate the first years of the universe.

The research team shared the information that they will use the James Webb Space Telescope, which was developed after Hubble and can get a much clearer image, to make sure that Earendel is really a single star, not two stars.

The Hubble Space Telescope, developed jointly by NASA with the European Space Agency (ESA) and the Space Telescope Science Institute (STScl), has been making space observations in Earth orbit since 1990.
