The more powerful 421-horsepower (500 Nm) Mercedes-AMG GLA 45 S spends 4.3 seconds on the starting spurt, the “related” Audi Q3 RS – 4.5 seconds, and other competitors in the class of subcompact crossovers are even slower.

Externally, the top-of-the-line VZ5 is most easily identified by its offset tailpipes, 20-inch wheels, copper accents and unique Taiga Gray body color. Inside, the most significant upgrade is the appearance of new front bucket seats. Otherwise, the difference between the VZ5 and other versions comes down to the dashboard decor and skins.
