This estimate is higher than this month’s economic price which was set at Rp 14,526 per liter.
The Head of the Communications, Public Information Services and Cooperation Bureau of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources Agung Pribadi said the potential increase in the economic price of RON 92 fuel to Rp 16,000/liter was due to the still heating up crude oil price condition, along with the Russia-Ukraine conflict.
“Taking into account the oil price in March which was much higher than February, the economic price or the upper limit for general fuel RON 92 in April 2022 will be even higher than Rp. 14,526 per liter, it could be around Rp. 16,000 per liter,” Agung said in a statement. written, Friday (25/3/2022).
Agung explained that until March 2022, world oil prices were still high above US$ 100 per barrel, as was the case with Indonesian crude oil prices or the Indonesia Crude Price (ICP). “The provisional ICP for March 2022 as of the 24th is US$ 114.55 per barrel, whereas as of March 1 it is US$ 110.14 per barrel,” explained Agung.
