We saw past seasons fringes already carefully come back into the picture. This detail was part of the seventies (hippie) influences in fashion. The fringes for fall winter 2020 2021 on the other hand, are much more contemporary, more modern, and no less than tens (if not more!) of centimeters long! Fringes are hot. Almost every piece of clothing and every fashion accessory for fall winter 2020 2021 has a ‘fringe version‘. Skirts, dresses, but also trousers are decorated with – or consist entirely of – fringes. A spectacular example is the red trousers with fringes from Bottega Veneta. But we also saw at Prada, Ferragamo, Dior and Alberta Ferretti fringe dresses and skirts hopping by on the catwalks.
Wool fringes, fringes with stones or crystals, fine fringes, wide fringes, and especially endless long leather fringes. We are all going to see (and wear) it. They not only decorate the garments but also bags and even scarves.
We saw Gabriele Colangelo round scarves (in leather and other materials) with fringes down to the floor that you can combine with your winter jacket or outfit – with great results.
We saw at both Bottega Veneta and Gabriele Colangelo leather bags with long leather fringes that add luster to your outfit. Such a handful of long fringes that happily swing after you elevate your winter outfit to an ultra-chic glam outfit. Something to keep an eye on!
