“Fashion Today!: A Decentralized Study of Latin American Style”

The exhibition is organized by Tanya Melendez-EscalanteSenior Curator of Education and Public Programs, and Melissa Marra-Alvarez, curator of education and research. It will present more than 60 pieces from the permanent collection of the FIT Museum including new acquisitions, add-on programs, a dedicated book, and all texts will be in English and Spanish.

The development of the exhibition integrated thoughts, perspectives and opinions of members of the Latin American fashion community, the FIT community and the Latino diaspora, all with the objective of decentralize the study of fashion. To this end, an advisory committee, discussion groups and a symposium prior to exposure. The exhibition “Fashion Today!” will be open from May 31 to November 12, 2023 at the FIT Museum in New York, admission is free.
